24 Nights Vancouver to Whittier

Cruise Itinerary Description
Cruise further north on Cruise West's 24 night Vancouver to Anchorage. Sail under the Lion's Gate Bridge as you leave Vancouver's inner harbor. Cruise British Columbia over the next two days keeping an eye out for the Kermode bear. The dramatic granite cliffs of Misty Fjords National Monument welcomes you to Alaska. The winding Wrangell Narrows leads to the bustling Norwegian founded fishing village of Petersburg. Travel through Holkham Bay to Tracy Arm and Frederick Sound. Early in the morning you will cruise the deep and mysterious emerald green waters of Lynn Canal, to arrive in Skagway, Today's majestic excursion into Glacier Bay National Park will look for wildlife and glacier activity. En route to Sitka, cruise through a zigzag of beautiful narrow passageways between Baranof and Chichagof Islands. Cruise through Prince William Sound and keep your eyes out for wildlife. Spend the day in Whittier at the head of Passage Canal. Cruise the waters between the Alaska mainland and Kodiak Island. Explore Kodiak, the last spot to see trees before you reach Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula. Watch for brown bears clam digging as you explore the rarely visited shoreline of Geographic Harbor. This is your first opportunity to really explore the tundra while at Shumagin Island. Take time to explore Dutch Harbour. The Pribil of Islands are a group of flat topped rocky islands located in the middle of the Bering Sea. Today your ship will anchor in the sweeping cove of Nash Harbor on the north end of remote Nunivak Island, a part of the Yukon North Delta National Wildlife refuge. The next three days will be spent exploring the Bering Sea. Today cruise far north, into the upper reaches of the Bering Sea, very near to where it opens into the Chukchi Sea and far enough to cross the Arctic Circle. See the vitality and spirit of Nome with a brief sightseeing tour. Fly to Anchorage to end your journey.
