Alaska Cruise Highlights:
Juneau - No roads lead to Juneau, which gives the Alaskan capital a misty inscrutability. You need to come by air or water, but when you arrive, the place will delight you with its bounty of water, forests, and mountains. Squeezed between the Gastineau Channel and Coast Mountains, Juneau offers a lot of variety in close proximity. The massive Mendenhall Glacier and the immense Juneau Icefields are at its back door. The vast Tongass National Forest stretches away to the northeast. You can shop downtown or get out and kayak, dogsled, raft, hike, whale watch, flightsee or fish. The adventures are as bountiful as the daylight.

Sitka - The onion domes of St. Michael's Cathedral are your first clue that Sitka was once a key Russian settlement. Indeed, it was capital of Russian America, seat of the bishop of Kamchatka, and the most important port on the West Coast for the first half of the 19th century. Catch a performance by the New Archangel Dancers, be greeted by native Tlingit people, then stand on the spot where the United States took possession of Alaska in 1867. The dramatic setting in the shadow of Mt. Edgecumbe is one of the loveliest in the Great North.

Ketchikan - Ketchikan clutches the shores of the Tongass Narrows, with many shops and houses built right out over the water. The stairways are weathered and the vibe is cheerful in the town that calls itself the Salmon Capital of the World. Besides the main attractions - Creek Street, the Tongass Historical Museum, Totem Bight State Park and Saxman Village - try a flightseeing trip to Misty Fjords National Monument. These deepwater fjords were gouged out by retreating glaciers, leaving granite cliffs towering thousands of feet above the sea and countless waterfalls plunging into placid waters.

Glacier Bay National Park - If you didn't know any better, you'd think Glacier Bay ostentatious for the way it flaunts its ice. The glaciers practically terminate in your lap. A cruise to Glacier Bay National Park with Holland America Line will show you a UNESCO World Heritage Site that protects a unique ecosystem of plants and animals living in concert with an ever-changing glacial landscape. When a monumental chunk of ice splits off a glacier and thunders into the sea the impact shoots water hundreds of feet into the air. You hold your breath as you catch the moment on film. Then you wait for it all to happen again. And it does: Glacier Bay has more actively calving tidewater glaciers than anyplace else in the world.

Be surrounded by awesome scenic beauty everyday - from Seattle's beautiful Puget Sound to Southeast Alaska and back again. Watch massive glaciers calve in Glacier Bay or Tracy Arm Fjord & Sawyer Glaciers. Explore Sitka's Russian legacy and Ketchikan's Native Alaskan culture. Take an adventure tour in Juneau and visit Butchart Gardens in Victoria.

The ms Oosterdam and ms Eurodam are Holland America Line's Vista-class ships. They embrace the latest industry and environmental technologies such as her use of a diesel-electric power plant for optimal energy efficiency and an Azipod propulsion system. Most of the staterooms onboard have ocean views and many have private verandahs.

Holland America Line will take you on a journey so spectacular you'll wonder why you didn't travel sooner. Experience forest, fjords and ice-blue glaciers. Savor a salmon bake, take a wildlife cruise, try dog sledding and enjoy totem-pole gazing. As glaciers calve, whales leap and sea lions lumber onto bobbing ice floes you'll have a front row seat. Holland America Line's medium-size ships take you closer to the coast to enjoy the spectacular views, yet still provide all the amenities and activities you'll expect from a larger ship. Don't delay booking your 2017 Alaska cruise as this early booking special ends soon.

Dining - Holland America invites you to dine As You Wish. To savor Italian cuisine one night and a perfectly grilled porterhouse steak the next. To take your place in the Dining Room at a specific seating time or be spontaneous, following your desires. On board, there are restaurants to suit every mood, along with the flexibility to choose the dining style you prefer. The Main Dining Room for elegant breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. The Pinnacle Grill for refined and luxurious romantic occasions for lunch or dinner. Canaletto Restaurant for a family-style Italian dinner. The Terrace Grill for a perfectly grilled hamburger or gourmet hot dog. Enjoy Slice Pizza for a casual snack or light lunch. The Lido Restaurant, available for casual dining 24-hours a day for all meals and snacks. Or just a phone call away is room service, available 24-hours.

Activities - Every day aboard a Holland America cruise ship brings a wealth of cruise activities and indulgences, along with the freedom to partake in as many - or as few - as you please. It's an opportunity to try something new that surprises you, every day. Dabble, discover, daydream - do everything, or do nothing at all. Whether you want to workout in the Fitness Center, learn yoga, pamper yourself with a massage and spa treatment, or listen to music and check your email in the Explorations Cafe, there's a perfect onboard activity for everyone. In every cruise port, make your cruise vacation even more memorable with our extensive Shore Excursions program of activities. See, explore, discover: arts and cultural activities, athletic expeditions, city tours, shopping and more on our cruises.

Entertainment - Evenings on board glitter with choices. Arrive in a lounge to the strains of a lively dance band. Take in a thrilling show on stage. Share a martini flight in Mix; sing along in the Piano Bar. Stay up late into the night. Enjoy spectacular shows, live music, diverse lounges, movies, casino gaming, and even Dancing With The Stars!
