| Day 1: Skagway to Whitehorse | Disembark and meet a Klondike National Park ranger and your Tour Director. Then board the vintage parlour cars of the White Pass and Yukon Route Railroad, climbing through rugged terrain. Travel into the Yukon Territory on a spacious Explorer Coach. Overnight in Whitehorse, the Yukon capital. | | Day 2: Whitehorse | Choose an optional excursion to this UNESCO World Heritage Site, encompassing the second-tallest mountain in North America, Mt. Logan, and numerous other titanic peaks. | | Day 3: Whitehorse to Beaver Creek | Highlights of your unforgettable day include a sled dog kennel tour and demonstration at Uncommon Journeys and a fascinating natural history presentation in Haines Junction describing nearby Kluane National Park (lunch included). Then you're back on the Alaska Highway passing the peaks of the St. Elias Mountains and the sparkling waters of scenic Kluane Lake. Later, we welcome you to remote Beaver Creek, Canada's westernmost settlement, with our famed Yukon Rendezvous Dinner Show (included). | | Day 4: Fairbanks | Scenes of the Tetlin Wildlife Refuge blend with the distant peaks of the Wrangell Mountains. Lunch is included in Tok. A pause at the famed Rika's Roadhouse along the original wagon road echoes the past. | | Day 5: Fairbanks | We have a full day planned. Start by boarding the sternwheeler Discovery for native culture and local color. Visit Gold Dredge No. 8, a National Historic Site, browse the mining exhibits and pan for gold during an informative tour, with lunch included. Later, relax or take an optional tour to the acclaimed Museum of the North. | | Day 6: Fairbanks to Denali | Sit back and enjoy the scenery as your rail guide shares insight on the surrounding sights. Upon arrival at Denali transfer to your inviting lodge. After settling in to your room, get out and explore. | | Day 7: Denali | Enjoy a Tundra Wilderness Tour with your driver/guide and travel miles of the Park Road. Watch for caribou, moose, grizzlies, wolves and Dall sheep, plus dramatic lookout points for Mt. McKinley. Later relax at your lodge, hike, river raft or flightsee. | | Day 8: Denali to Anchorage | After a morning at leisure, reboard your luxury railcar for the scenic trip to Anchorage. Transfer to your downtown hotel and say 'good-bye' to your Tour Director. | | Day 9: Anchorage | Tour ends this morning in Anchorage. |
