Detailed Itinerary
This land tour needs to be accompanied by one of the following cruise itineraries
This itinerary starts AFTER the accompanying cruise itinerary.
Day 1: Whittier / Copper River
Step off your ship and board a high-speed catamaran for the scenic trip across Prince William Sound to Valdez. Along the way are beautiful waterfalls and lots of wildlife like bald eagles, sea otters, sea lions and various seabirds. Catch a glimpse of Blackstone Glacier and College Fjord. Crystal blue ice bergs dot the water near the inlet of Columbia Glacier. Don't forget to keep an eye out for whales! From Valdez, continue via motorcoach over Thompson Pass, stopping at Worthington Glacier. Then our Copper River Princess Wilderness Lodge welcomes you with incredible views of Mt. Drum, Mt. Wrangell and Mt. Blackburn. You may choose to end your day with a relaxing dinner at the Two Rivers Restaurant.
Day 2: Copper River
Enjoy a full day of leisure. Choose from many optional excursions that let you explore America's largest National Park - Wrangell-St. Elias. At day's end, you can drop-in to the Whistle Stop Bar & Grill for a burger and refreshing beverage.
Day 3: Copper River / Denali
The Denali Highway takes you through unparalleled scenery as you head toward the fabled park. The Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge is your home for the next two nights.
Day 4: Denali
You have a full day to get out into one of America's best national parks. This morning, a Natural History Tour serves as a wonderful introduction to the animals, plants and geological features found there. Later today, you may want to stop by the tour desk to plan an activity such as rafting or hiking.
Day 5: Denali / Mt. McKinley
A scenic drive between our two lodges culminates in incredible views of Mt. McKinley, and with your arrival at the Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge, a relaxing haven in one of the most dazzling settings imaginable.
Day 6: Mt. McKinley / Anchorage
Take in the final views of the mountain, perhaps over a leisurely cup of coffee, before your transfer to Talkeetna and your Princess Rail journey to Anchorage. The evening is yours to get to know this unique city.
Day 7: Anchorage
Your tour ends this morning in Anchorage.
